Methyl jasmonate reduces decay and enhances antioxidant capacity in Chinese bayberries.

6 Jul 2009 The effects of methyl jasmonate (MeJA) on postharvest decay and antioxidant capacity in harvested Chinese bayberry fruit were investigated. Chinese bayberries were treated with 0, 1, 10, 100, or 1000 micromol L(-1) MeJA at 20 degrees C for 6 h and ... Read more...

Comparative study of anthocyanin composition, antimicrobial and antioxidant activity in bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) and blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) fruits.

29 Jun 2009 Simultaneous comparison of bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) and blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L) fruits for their anthocyanin composition, antimicrobial and antioxidant activity is reported. The aim of this study was to investigate and to compare ... Read more...

Anthocyanins and tannins in ozone-fumigated guava trees.

15 Jun 2009 Psidium guajava "Paluma", a tropical tree species, is known to be an efficient ozone indicator in tropical countries. When exposed to ozone, this species displays a characteristic leaf injury identified by inter-veinal red stippling on adaxial leaf ... Read more...
