Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - Methods
Research News and Information
Definition of 'Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation'The artificial substitution of heart and lung action as indicated for HEART ARREST resulting from electric shock, DROWNING, respiratory arrest, or other causes. The two major components of cardiopulmonary resuscitation are artificial ventilation (RESPIRATION, ARTIFICIAL) and closed-chest CARDIAC MASSAGE. Common names: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation; Resuscitation, Cardiopulmonary; CPR; Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation; Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation; Resuscitation, Cardio-Pulmonary; Code Blue; Mouth-to-Mouth Resuscitation; Mouth to Mouth Resuscitation; Mouth-to-Mouth Resuscitations; Resuscitation, Mouth-to-Mouth |

Results of treatment methods in cardiac arrest following coronary artery bypass grafting.
16 Nov 2009
BACKGROUND AND AIM OF THE STUDY: Emergency re-revascularization and invasive/noninvasive interventions in intensive care unit (ICU) are two main treatment methods in cardiac arrest following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). We evaluated the ... Read more...

BACKGROUND: We investigated the effects of intra-cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) hypothermia with and without volume loading on return to spontaneous circulation and infarction size in an ischemic model of cardiac arrest. METHODS AND RESULTS: ... Read more...
12 Sep 2009
BACKGROUND: Quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation contributes to cardiac arrest survival. The proportion of time in which chest compressions are performed in each minute of cardiopulmonary resuscitation is an important modifiable aspect of quality ... Read more...
