Glioma - Radiography
Research News and Information
Definition of 'Glioma'Benign and malignant central nervous system neoplasms derived from glial cells (i.e., astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, and ependymocytes). Astrocytes may give rise to astrocytomas (ASTROCYTOMA) or glioblastoma multiforme (see GLIOBLASTOMA). Oligodendrocytes give rise to oligodendrogliomas (OLIGODENDROGLIOMA) and ependymocytes may undergo transformation to become EPENDYMOMA; CHOROID PLEXUS NEOPLASMS; or colloid cysts of the third ventricle. Radiopathological characteristics of cerebellar malignant glioma in adults.
25 Oct 2009
Our aim was to extract the radiopathological features of cerebellar malignant glioma in adults from the four cases we encountered. All four cases (two men and two women, aged 52-80 years; mean age, 67 years) had a floating sensation or vertigo at ... Read more...
Neuroimaging in neuro-oncology.
29 Jun 2009
Neuroimaging of brain tumors has evolved from a strictly morphology-based discipline to one that encompasses function, physiology, and anatomy. This review outlines the current imaging standard for patients with brain tumor and summarizes the latest ... Read more...
A case report of intraventricular gliofibroma.
13 Jun 2009
Gliofibroma is a rare tumor with biphasic morphology. We report a case of a 3-month-old girl presenting with increasing head circumference. CT and MRI showed the presence of a large heterogeneous, nonenhancing tumor filling the atria and bodies of ... Read more...
