DCP-LA stimulates AMPA receptor exocytosis through CaMKII activation due to PP-1 inhibition.

29 Sep 2009 The linoleic acid derivative 8-[2-(2-pentyl-cyclopropylmethyl)-cyclopropyl]-octanoic acid (DCP-LA) activated Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) by inhibiting protein phosphatase-1 (PP-1). DCP-LA induced a transient huge ... Read more...

Selective expression of ErbB4 in interneurons, but not pyramidal cells, of the rodent hippocampus.

28 Sep 2009 NRG1 and ERBB4 have emerged as some of the most reproducible schizophrenia risk genes. Moreover, the Neuregulin (NRG)/ErbB4 signaling pathway has been implicated in dendritic spine morphogenesis, glutamatergic synaptic plasticity, and neural network ... Read more...

The role of granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) in the healthy brain: a characterization of G-CSF-deficient mice.

14 Sep 2009 Granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) is a hematopoietic growth factor that controls proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells. Although recent studies have begun to explore G-CSF-related mechanisms of action in various disease ... Read more...
