HLA-DR Antigens - Research News and Information
Saturday, January 10, 2009
Definition of 'HLA-DR Antigens'A group of D-related human leukocyte antigens that are polymorphic glycoproteins found on lymphoid cells. They consist of alpha and beta chains and their inheritance differs from that of the DQ and DP antigens; their presence seems to be associated with certain skin diseases like pemphigus vulgaris, dermatitis herpetiformis, and type I diabetes. Common names: HLA-DR Antigens; Antigens, HLA-DR; HLA DR Antigens; HLA-BR; HLA-BR Antigens; Antigens, HLA-BR; HLA BR Antigens; HLA-MT Antigens; Antigens, HLA-MT; HLA MT Antigens; HLA-MT; HLA-D-Related Antigens; Antigens, HLA-D-Related; HLA D Related Antigens; HLA-DR; HLA-DR alpha; HLA DR alpha; HLA-DR beta |

Human plasmacytoid dendritic cells (PDCs) can drive naive, allogeneic CD4(+)CD25(-) T cells to differentiate into CD4(+)CD25(+)Foxp3(+) regulatory T cells (Tregs). However, the intracellular mechanism or mechanisms underlying PDC-induced Treg ... Read more...

Myelin basic protein (MBP)-specific T cells are thought to play a role in the development of multiple sclerosis. MBP residues 111-129 compose an immunodominant epitope cluster restricted by HLA-DRB1*0401. The sequence of residues 111-129 of MBP ... Read more...

Genetic susceptibility to multiple sclerosis (MS) is associated with the MHC located on chromosome 6p21. This signal maps primarily to a 1-Mb region encompassing the HLA class II loci, and it segregates often with the HLA-DQB1*0602, -DQA1*0102, ... Read more...
