Survey of long-term follow-up programs in the United States for survivors of childhood brain tumors.

13 Dec 2009 INTRODUCTION: Despite recognition that childhood brain tumor survivors often suffer multiple late effects following therapy, little is known regarding the long-term follow-up (LTFU) programs for these patients. METHODS: A 16-question survey was ... Read more...

Tumor ZAC1 expression is associated with the response to somatostatin analog therapy in patients with acromegaly.

30 Oct 2009 Somatostatin analogs (SSA) with their potent antisecretory and antiproliferative effects are the main medical treatment option for patients with neuroendocrine tumors, such as gastroenteropancreatic and acromegaly-associated growth hormone secreting ... Read more...

High-throughput ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry quantitation of insulin-like growth factor-I and leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein in serum as biomarkers of recombinant human growth hormone administration.

29 Sep 2009 Insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) is a known biomarker of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) abuse, and is also used clinically to confirm acromegaly. The protein leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein (LRG) was recently identified as a putative ... Read more...
