Magnetic Resonance Imaging - Methods
Research News and Information
Definition of 'Magnetic Resonance Imaging'Non-invasive method of demonstrating internal anatomy based on the principle that atomic nuclei in a strong magnetic field absorb pulses of radiofrequency energy and emit them as radiowaves which can be reconstructed into computerized images. The concept includes proton spin tomographic techniques. OBJECT: Gamma knife (GK) surgery is an important part of the treatment armamentarium for benign and malignant brain tumors. In general, quantitative volumetrical analysis of the tumor on neuroimaging studies is the most reliable method of assessment ... Read more...
Effect of anti-IFN{beta} antibodies on MRI lesions of MS patients in the BECOME study.
Nov 2009
BACKGROUND: Interferon beta (IFNbeta) administered subcutaneously is immunogenic in some patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and leads to the development of neutralizing antibodies (NAbs). Considerable evidence has accumulated that NAbs diminish ... Read more...
