Mice, Inbred Strains
Research News and Information
Definition of 'Mice, Inbred Strains'Genetically identical individuals developed from brother and sister matings which have been carried out for twenty or more generations, or by parent x offspring matings carried out with certain restrictions. All animals within an inbred strain trace back to a common ancestor in the twentieth generation. Common names: Mice, Inbred Strains; Inbred Strain of Mouse; Mouse Inbred Strain; Mouse Inbred Strains; Mouse, Inbred Strain; Inbred Strain of Mice; Inbred Mouse Strains; Inbred Mouse Strain; Mouse Strain, Inbred; Mouse Strains, Inbred; Strain, Inbred Mouse; Strains, Inbred Mouse; Inbred Strains of Mice |

Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase IV (CaMKIV) plays a key role in the regulation of calcium-dependent gene expression. The expression of CaMKIV and the activation of CREB regulated genes are involved in memory and neuronal survival. We ... Read more...
Ceramide metabolism determines glioma cell resistance to chemotherapy.
29 Nov 2009
Tumor cell resistance to chemotherapy constitutes a major problem in the treatment of malignant tumors. We here investigated the role of ceramide metabolism for the resistance of glioma cells to treatment with the chemotherapeutic drug, gemcitabine. ... Read more...
Influence of genetic background on fluoride metabolism in mice.
30 Oct 2009
A/J and 129P3/J mouse strains have different susceptibilities to dental fluorosis, due to their genetic backgrounds. This study tested whether these differences are due to variations in water intake and/or F metabolism. A/J (susceptible to dental ... Read more...
