Research News and Information
Definition of 'Nephritis, Interstitial'Inflammation of the interstitial tissue of the kidney. This term is generally used for primary inflammation of KIDNEY TUBULES and/or surrounding interstitium. For primary inflammation of glomerular interstitium, see GLOMERULONEPHRITIS. Infiltration of the inflammatory cells into the interstitial compartment results in EDEMA, increased spaces between the tubules, and tubular renal dysfunction. Common names: Nephritis, Interstitial; Interstitial Nephritis; Interstitial Nephritides; Nephritides, Interstitial; Nephritis, Tubulointerstitial; Nephritides, Tubulointerstitial; Tubulointerstitial Nephritides; Tubulointerstitial Nephritis |

Approach to the patient with drug allergy.
30 Jul 2009
Drug allergies are adverse drug reactions mediated by the specific immune system. Despite characteristic signs (eg, skin rash) that raise awareness for possible drug allergies, they are great imitators of disease and may hide behind unexpected ... Read more...

BACKGROUND/AIMS: We previously found increased urinary protein excretion, glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and blood pressure in a retrospective analysis of patients with previous nephropathia epidemica (NE). Here, we evaluated the long-term outcome ... Read more...
Serial renal biopsies in three girls with tubulointerstitial nephritis and uveitis syndrome.
8 Mar 2009
Tubulointerstitial nephritis and uveitis (TINU) syndrome is considered to have a good prognosis even without any immunosuppressive therapy, although there is no histological evidence to support this. The objective of this study was to evaluate, ... Read more...
