Nerve Net - Blood supply
Research News and Information

Definition of 'Nerve Net'

A meshlike structure composed of interconnecting nerve cells that are separated at the synaptic junction or joined to one another by cytoplasmic processes. In invertebrates, for example, the nerve net allows nerve impulses to spread over a wide area of the net because synapses can pass information in any direction.

Common names: Nerve Net; Nerve Nets; Net, Nerve; Nets, Nerve; Neural Networks (Anatomic); Network, Neural (Anatomic); Networks, Neural (Anatomic); Neural Network (Anatomic)

Distinct orbitofrontal regions encode stimulus and choice valuation.

29 Sep 2009 The weak axiom of revealed preferences suggests that the value of an object can be understood through the simple examination of choices. Although this axiom has driven economic theory, the assumption of equation between value and choice is often ... Read more...

Recognizing threat: a simple geometric shape activates neural circuitry for threat detection.

30 Jul 2009 The urgent need to recognize danger quickly has been shown to rely on preferential processing in dedicated neural circuitry. In previous behavioral studies examining the pattern of the face when displaying anger, we found evidence that simple ... Read more...

Distinct cerebellar contributions to intrinsic connectivity networks.

29 Jun 2009 Convergent data from various scientific approaches strongly implicate cerebellar systems in nonmotor functions. The functional anatomy of these systems has been pieced together from disparate sources, such as animal studies, lesion studies in ... Read more...
