Nerve Net - Radionuclide imaging
Research News and Information
Definition of 'Nerve Net'A meshlike structure composed of interconnecting nerve cells that are separated at the synaptic junction or joined to one another by cytoplasmic processes. In invertebrates, for example, the nerve net allows nerve impulses to spread over a wide area of the net because synapses can pass information in any direction. Common names: Nerve Net; Nerve Nets; Net, Nerve; Nets, Nerve; Neural Networks (Anatomic); Network, Neural (Anatomic); Networks, Neural (Anatomic); Neural Network (Anatomic) |

Functional brain areas associated with manipulation of a prehensile tool: a PET study.
30 Aug 2009
Using PET, brain areas representing the use of a well-learned tool (chopsticks) were investigated in 10 normal common users. The experimental task was to hold the tool in their right hand and use it to pick up and transport a small pin from a table. ... Read more...

Previous functional activation studies in patients with aphasia have mostly relied on standard group comparisons of aphasic patients with healthy controls, which are biased towards regions showing the most consistent effects and disregard ... Read more...

Our recent studies have demonstrated that needling in Baihui, Shuigou and Shenmen enhances glucose metabolism in the frontal lobes, thalamus, temporal lobe, and the lentiform nucleus in vascular dementia. This study examined the effect of true, sham ... Read more...
