Vincristine: Can its therapeutic index be enhanced?

13 Dec 2009 Vincristine is one of the most widely used and more effective drugs in paediatric oncology. The dose-limiting toxicity of neuropathy, lack of proven neuroprotective measures and an incomplete understanding of the pharmacokinetics and ... Read more...

p38SJ, a novel DINGG protein protects neuronal cells from alcohol induced injury and death.

29 Nov 2009 Ethanol induces neuronal cell injury and death by dysregulating several signaling events that are controlled, in part, by activation of MAPK/ERK1/2 and/or inactivation of its corresponding phosphatase, PP1. Recently, we have purified a novel protein ... Read more...

Reticulon-4A (Nogo-A) redistributes protein disulfide isomerase to protect mice from SOD1-dependent amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

2 Nov 2009 Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal motor neuron disease inherited in a small subset of patients. The SOD1(G93A) transgenic mouse models this subset of patients, and studies of this strain have suggested that endoplasmic reticulum (ER) ... Read more...
