Differential effects of topiramate on prefrontal glutamatergic transmission when combined with raclopride or clozapine.

29 Sep 2009 Treatment with topiramate may improve negative symptoms in schizophrenia when added to typical antipsychotic drugs (APDs) but not to clozapine. Both dopaminergic and glutamatergic transmissions in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) are facilitated ... Read more...

Formation of spatial memory in rats with ischemic lesions to the prefrontal cortex; effects of a synthetic analog of ACTH(4-7).

21 Sep 2009 Photochemically induced thrombosis of blood vessels in the prefrontal cortex in rats was shown to lead to ischemic infarcts in the lesion zone. Bilateral ischemic lesioning of the prefrontal cortex degraded measures of spatial memory when animals ... Read more...

An FMRI study of the effects of psychostimulants on default-mode processing during Stroop task performance in youths with ADHD.

13 Sep 2009 OBJECTIVE: The authors examined the effect of psychostimulants on brain activity in children and adolescents with ADHD performing the Stroop Color and Word Test. METHOD: The authors acquired 52 functional MRI scans in 16 youths with ADHD who were ... Read more...
