Receptors, Opioid, mu - Drug effects
Research News and Information
Definition of 'Receptors, Opioid, mu'A class of opioid receptors recognized by its pharmacological profile. Mu opioid receptors bind, in decreasing order of affinity, endorphins, dynorphins, met-enkephalin, and leu-enkephalin. They have also been shown to be molecular receptors for morphine. Common names: Receptors, Opioid, mu; Opioid Receptors, mu; mu Opioid Receptors; Receptors, mu Opioid; Receptors, mu; mu Receptor; Receptor, mu; mu Receptors; mu Opioid Receptor; Opioid Receptor, mu; Receptor, mu Opioid; Morphine Receptor; Receptor, Morphine; Receptors, Morphine; Morphine Receptors |

mu-opioid receptor-stimulated synthesis of reactive oxygen species is mediated via phospholipase D2.

We have recently shown that the activation of the rat mu-opioid receptor (MOPr, also termed MOR1) by the mu-agonist [D-Ala(2), Me Phe(4), Glyol(5)]enkephalin (DAMGO) leads to an increase in phospholipase D2 (PLD2) activity and an induction of ... Read more...

The endogenous hippocampal opioid systems are implicated in learning associated with drug use. Recently, we showed that ovarian hormones regulate enkephalin levels in the mossy fiber pathway. This pathway overlaps with parvalbumin (PARV)-basket ... Read more...

G protein-coupled receptor kinases (GRKs) are a family of intracellular proteins that desensitize and regulate the responsiveness of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). In the present study, we assessed the contribution of GRK6 to the regulation ... Read more...
