Receptors, Opioid, mu
Research News and Information
Definition of 'Receptors, Opioid, mu'A class of opioid receptors recognized by its pharmacological profile. Mu opioid receptors bind, in decreasing order of affinity, endorphins, dynorphins, met-enkephalin, and leu-enkephalin. They have also been shown to be molecular receptors for morphine. Common names: Receptors, Opioid, mu; Opioid Receptors, mu; mu Opioid Receptors; Receptors, mu Opioid; Receptors, mu; mu Receptor; Receptor, mu; mu Receptors; mu Opioid Receptor; Opioid Receptor, mu; Receptor, mu Opioid; Morphine Receptor; Receptor, Morphine; Receptors, Morphine; Morphine Receptors |

1 Possibly acting via mu-opioid receptors (MORs), morphine inhibits the formation of experimentally induced postoperative abdominal adhesions in rats. Mesothelial cells may participate in adhesion formation by secreting mediators that interfere ... Read more...

CONTEXT: The endogenous opioid system and opioid mu receptors (mu-receptors) are known to interface environmental events, positive (eg, relevant emotional stimuli) and negative (eg, stressors), with pertinent behavioral responses and to regulate ... Read more...

Serotonin receptor (5-HTR) agonists that target 5-HT(4(a))R and 5-HT(1A)R can reverse mu-opioid receptor (mu-OR)-evoked respiratory depression. Here, we have tested whether such rescuing by serotonin agonists also applies to the cardiovascular ... Read more...
