Sympathetic Fibers, Postganglionic
Research News and Information
Definition of 'Sympathetic Fibers, Postganglionic'Nerve fibers which project from sympathetic ganglia to synapses on target organs. Sympathetic postganglionic fibers use norepinephrine as transmitter, except for those innervating eccrine sweat glands (and possibly some blood vessels) which use acetylcholine. They may also release peptide cotransmitters. Common names: Sympathetic Fibers, Postganglionic; Fiber, Postganglionic Sympathetic; Fibers, Postganglionic Sympathetic; Postganglionic Sympathetic Fiber; Postganglionic Sympathetic Fibers; Sympathetic Fiber, Postganglionic |

Sudomotor, skin vasomotor, and cardiovascular reflexes in 3 clinical forms of Lewy body disease.
5 Jul 2009
OBJECTIVE: To elucidate the differences among dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), Parkinson disease with dementia (PDD), and Parkinson disease without dementia (PD), with respect to the involvement of the autonomic nervous system, we clinically ... Read more...
The developing left superior cervical ganglion of Pacas (Agouti paca).
29 Jun 2009
In this study the main question investigated was the number and size of both binucleate and mononucleate superior cervical ganglion (SCG) neurons and, whether post-natal development would affect these parameters. Twenty left SCGs from 20 male pacas ... Read more...

BACKGROUND: Repetitive and stressful work tasks have been linked to the development of pain in the trapezius muscle, although the underlying mechanisms still remain unclear. In earlier studies, it has been hypothesized that chronic muscle pain ... Read more...
