Tachycardia, Ventricular
Research News and Information
Definition of 'Tachycardia, Ventricular'An abnormally rapid ventricular rhythm usually in excess of 150 beats per minute. It is generated within the ventricle below the BUNDLE OF HIS, either as autonomic impulse formation or reentrant impulse conduction. Depending on the etiology, onset of ventricular tachycardia can be paroxysmal (sudden) or nonparoxysmal, its wide QRS complexes can be uniform or polymorphic, and the ventricular beating may be independent of the atrial beating (AV dissociation). |

Sudden death in a patient with idiopathic right ventricular outflow tract arrhythmia.
29 Sep 2009
Idiopathic ventricular tachycardia originating from the right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) and idiopathic RVOT extrasystoles are generally considered benign arrhythmias. We describe the case of a patient with typical RVOT arrhythmias without any ... Read more...
Ventricular tachycardia during hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy.

SUMMARY: Cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) is used for selected gastrointestinal carcinomas. We report a case of ventricular tachycardia during HIPEC with cisplatin that persisted as long as the ... Read more...

Cardiac patients with systemic light-chain amyloidosis have a high incidence of arrhythmias and arrhythmia-related death. We aimed to describe the arrhythmias, determine patient characteristics associated with the development of ventricular ... Read more...
