Nursing in Russia: A "travelogue".

Full Abstract

The following article provides highlights from a Russian and United States-sponsored nursing conference entitled, "Building Bridges Between US and Russian Nurses." This "travelogue" was written by two pediatrics nurses who participated in the 2003 conference. One of these nurses, Rachel, has been a co-organizer of these biannual conferences. Rachel and Diane have had significant, ongoing interests in Russia and Russian nursing. In their travelogue, they use first person to accentuate what was most meaningful to them. The background information about Russian nursing is an example of collaborative work among Rachel, Diane, and their Russian colleague, Marina, a pediatrics nurse from St. Petersburg, Russia.
