Twenty five years on: charting the RCN's role in developing children's nursing services.

Full Abstract

This year is the 25th anniversary of the children and young people's field of practice at the Royal College of Nursing. It was created at a time when no one knew how many nurses worked with children or where they worked. Since then the college has campaigned for improvements in services and education and been involved in numerous advances in standards and the dissemination of good practice.
