Sinking fast. States worry about strain on Medicaid as uninsured numbers rise and reimbursement rates see more cuts.
Full Abstract
With increasing numbers of uninsured and stimulus dollars ending in a year, states are concerned about their Medicaid funding. Combine that with the growing number of unemployed, rate cuts, etc., and some believe the perfect storm has hit. "Across the valley, we are seeing more emergency room visits, rising levels of uncompensated care and bad debt," says Sylvia Young, CEO of Sunrise Health, Las Vegas.
